Der Widerstand gegen die geplanten oder bereits errichteten Atomanlagen in Gorleben dauert schon fast vierzig Jahre. In keiner anderen Region in der Bundesrepublik kämpft eine soziale Bewegung quer durch alle Bevölkerungsschichten über einen so langen Zeitraum für ihre Rechte wie im Landkreis Lüchow-Dannenberg - bis heute. Eine Bewegung, die das kulturelle Leben, die politischen und wirtschaftlichen Strukturen in der Region nachhaltig verändert hat.
viele wichtige Dokumente über den Gorleben-Widerstand fast vergessen auf Dachböden, in Kellern oder Scheunen lagerten. Persönliche Protokolle, Tagebücher, Plakate, Fotos, Filme, Transparente – unzählige Erinnerungsstücke drohten, dem Zahn der Zeit anheimzufallen und endgültig verloren zu gehen.
Der gemeinnützige Verein sammelt, sichtet und archiviert das historisch inzwischen bedeutsame Material über die Geschichte des Atomstandortes Gorleben in Wort, Schrift, Bild, Foto und Film.
