Die Walhalle gilt als eines der bedeutendsten klassizistischen Bauwerke in Deutschland.

Walhalla – einen Freudenhimmel wollte König Ludwig I. von Bayern den bedeutendsten Persönlichkeiten deutscher Zunge mit dem 1842 eingeweihten Tempel errichten. Hoch über der Donau, auf dem Bräuberg bei Donaustauf, thront dieser mächtige klassizistische Bau, der vom Hofarchitekten Leo von Klenze nach griechischem Vorbild erbaut wurde.
