Der Tarnbunker wurde 1938 als Regelbau 10a mit den Westbefestigungen errichtet.

Einige Westwall-Bunker erhielten zur Tarnung Aufbauten und Bemalungen, die sie wie Häuser aussehen ließen. Dazu gehört auch der „Tarnbunker“ in Kehl-Neumühl. 1938 als Regelbau 10a errichtet, wurde er 1939 mit einem Dachgeschoss ausgestattet, das ab diesem Zeitpunkt bewohnt war.

Durch den Wiederaufbau des Dachgeschosses wird der Bunker aktuell zum Kommunikations- und Informationszentrum "Westbefestigungen Oberrhein" ausgebaut.
