Der Stadtturm mit einer Gesamthöhe von 46 m ist das älteste Gebäude der Stadt. Er dient bis heute als Glockenturm für die Stadtpfarrkirche St. Johann und kann bei einer Turmführung besichtigt werden. Über 163 Stufen erreichen Sie die einstige Türmerwohnung und erfahren dabei seine Geschichte und die Turmschiebersage, nach der man einst versucht haben soll, den Stadtturm an die nebenstehende Kirche zu schieben, damit diese endlich einen eigenen Turm habe. Oben angekommen werden Sie mit einem traumhaften Blick über die Dächer Erdings und das Umland bis hin zu den Alpen belohnt. Früher arbeitete in dem Turm ein Turmwächter, der die Bevölkerung vor Feuer uns sonstigen Gefahren warnte. Der Wächter hatte im obersten Stockwerk seine Dienstwohnung, die bis 1945 noch bewohnt war.

Stadtturmführungen – mit einem fantastischen Blick über die Altstadt Erdings

Die Führungen auf den Stadtturm haben sich in den letzten Jahren zu einem festen Bestandteil im touristischen Programm entwickelt. Das 46 Meter hohe Bauwerk mit 162 Stufen ist das älteste Gebäude Erdings und stammt aus dem 14. Jahrhundert. Die Stadtturmführungen finden jeden dritten Sonntag im Monat statt.

Treffpunkt: 15.30 Uhr am Eingang zum Stadtturm (zwischen Kirche St. Johannes
und Sparkasse am Schrannenplatz), Dauer: ca. 60 Minuten

Einzel- und Gruppenführungen (maximal 9 Personen) können auch mit der Stadtturmführerin unter Tel. 08122 / 9 99 81 12 oder per Mail unter info@erding-tower-tours.de vereinbart werden.
