Satul Rimetea

The village of Rimetea is a picturesque settlement located at the foothills of the Apuseni Mountains in Romania. It has been continuously inhabited for eight centuries, evolving from a medieval village to a flourishing town in the 17th and 18th centuries, and then returning to a modest village in the 20th century. Since the 1990s, Rimetea has undergone a revitalization process focused on preserving its unique architectural heritage and developing tourism. In 1999, it was awarded the prestigious Europa Nostra prize for cultural heritage conservation.
