Die eindrucksvolle Säulengrotte ist ein ehemaliger Sandsteinbruch und ein verstecktes Naturjuwel oberhalb von Schöftland mit Feuerstelle und Rastplatz.

Die Säulengrotte liegt im Waldgebiet Husertwing oberhalb des Schwimmbads Rütimatten in Schöftland. Der ehemalige Sandsteinbruch beeindruckt mit seinen markanten Sandsteinsäulen und vermittelt einen spannenden Einblick in die frühere Nutzung des regionalen Gesteins. Heute ist die Grotte ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel für Spaziergängerinnen und Spaziergänger, Familien sowie Wandernde.

Die Grotte ist ausschliesslich zu Fuss erreichbar und bietet mit fest installierten Sitzbänken sowie einer Feuerstelle einen attraktiven Rastplatz mitten im Wald. Die ruhige Umgebung lädt zum Verweilen und Picknicken ein und macht die Säulengrotte zu einem lohnenden Ziel für einen kurzen Spaziergang oder als Zwischenhalt auf einer Wanderung.

Nach umfassenden Sicherungsarbeiten wurde die Grotte wieder für die Öffentlichkeit freigegeben. Sie kann heute frei besucht werden, eine Reservation oder exklusive Nutzung ist jedoch nicht mehr möglich. Der Aufenthalt erfolgt auf eigene Verantwortung, da es sich um ein natürliches Felsobjekt handelt.

Für Reservationen ist das Empfangsbüro (Telefon 062 739 12 00 / empfangsbuero@schoeftland.ch) zuständig.

Auf Wunsch liefert der Forstbetrieb Oberes Suhrental Brennholz (½ Ster à Fr. 70.—) und/oder auch Finnenkerzen (à Fr. 25.—/Stück); Bestellung ebenfalls beim Empfangsbüro zusammen mit dem Benützungsgesuch.
