Si trova lungo la dorsale che da Cima della Mandria porta al Monte Palon nel Gruppo del Grappa.

L'ammirevole lavoro del Gruppo Alpini Possagno e di altre sezioni e gruppi di volontari ha permesso la riapertura di 1000 m di trincee, 300 m di gallerie e la sistemazione di alcuni baraccamenti e appostamenti. Durante la Battaglia d’Arresto nella Prima Guerra Mondiale, il Monte Palon fece valere la sua posizione strategica e venne trasformato in una vera fortezza, con postazioni d’artiglieria in caverna, postazioni di mitragliatrici fortificate, postazioni di bombarde e di fotoelettriche, importantissimi osservatori e molto altro. Erwin Rommel, impegnato allora proprio in questo settore come tenente di un reparto della Wültenberg, tentò ripetutamente e inutilmente di prendere questa importante linea fortificata e spesso citava il Monte Palon come osso duro da espugnare conferendogli l’attributo di “spina dorsale” della linea di difesa italiana in quel tratto di fronte.
