Neues Rathaus in Marktredwitz

Das Neue Rathaus entstand 1794 als Wohnhaus des Unternehmers und Bürgermeisters Wolfgang Caspar Fikentscher außerhalb des Mauerrings.

Die Planung und der klassizistische Entwurf des Hauses wird dem Wunsiedler Baumeister Carl Johann Ritter zugeschrieben.

Im August 1822 besuchte Goethe den Markt Redwitz und wohnte hier. 1930 wurde das Haus von der Stadt gekauft und wird seither als Rathaus und Sitz der Marktredwitzer Oberbürgermeister genutzt.
