Auf dem Historischen Wanderweg in Freiamt können Sie Geschichte erwandern und sich in herrlicher Natur mit dieser vertraut machen. Dies ist der Standort "Mutterstegenhof".

Einer der ältesten urkundlich erwähnten Höfe in Freiamt ist der Mutterstegenhof, der 1161 zur Grundausstattung des Klosters Tennenbach gehörte. Ursprünglich war der Hof ein Lehenhof des Klosters. Mindestens seit dem Jahr 1632 bis heute ist der Mutterstegenhof im Besitz der Familie Zimmermann. Von dieser wurde er nach der Aufhebung des Klosters von Johannes Zimmermann im Jahr 1831 erworben.
