For having been the largest village of boatmen in Eastern France, the municipality and the Circle of former boatmen have created a museum in a barge installed in the heart of the city. Mooring at the Quai des Bateliers, this museum-barge presents an important collection of objects, documents and models retracing the history, the techniques and the way of life of the barge industry.
The museum is open from May 1 to September 30 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and by appointment the rest of the year
Audioguides in German only (included in the entrance fee). Explanatory panels in German.
