Dort stand im Mittelalter ein Wartturm der Teil der Soester Landwehr war.

Heute ist von dem Wartturm nichts mehr zu sehen. Eine Hinweistafel erläutert dem Besucher die ehemalige Landwehr, siehe Foto. Hier stehen heute der Nasenstein, vermutlich eine vorchristliche Kultstätte, sowie ein Preußischer Handwegweiser.
