Lires is also home to some of Spain's first rural houses, like Casa Lourido and Casa Raúl, which were part of the "Vacaciones en Casas de Labranza" program in 1968, a precursor to modern rural tourism. The Igrexa de San Estevo, built in the 17th century on the remains of an earlier church, is another point of interest. Continuing past the cemetery, O Camiño dos Faros leads to the beautiful Ría de Lires.
