Industriedenkmal im Regionalpark Rhein-Main

Die historischen Kalkbrennöfen bei Flörsheim sind ein einzigartiges Industriedenkmal in Hessen. Sie entstanden bereits in der vorindustriellen Zeit im 18. Jahrhundert. Der Kalk bidete u.a. die Grundlage für den Kalkputz vieler Flörsheimner Häuser. Die Anlage wurde bis 1921 betriieben. Die Kalkbrennöfen wurden 1997/98 von der Regionalpark Rhein-Main GmbH freigelegt und für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Informationstafeln erläutern die Arbeiten in dieser Anlage und machen Angaben zur Geschichte.
