Hadrian's Gate is one of the most important historical sites in Antalya.
Dating back to 130 AD, the gate is a triumphal arch of the Roman Empire. It was built in the name of Hadrian, the Roman Emperor, who visited the city back then. The gate was also known as the main entrance to the city's old quarter, Kaleiçi.
Regarded as Pamphylia's most beautiful gate, the historical structure has a great architectural design with two facades composed of four columns and three archways. White marbles and floral motifs are just among many other things that make this historical gate appealing. With its distinct decoration and design, it is considered to be one of the finest examples of the typical Roman triumphal arches.
