Horsens is home to Kystlandet's biggest attraction, Fængslet: a former state prison that is now an important cultural institution and a symbol of the city.

Here you can visit Europe's largest prison museum, which tells the harsh, thought-provoking and sometimes unbelievable stories of the many prisoners who called the prison their involuntary home for more than 150 years. After visiting Carl August Lorentzen's 18 metre long escape tunnel, there is the opportunity to check in behind bars and spend the night in the prison's old infirmary.
