Located in the Serik district of Antalya, the ancient city of Aspendos is home to a stunning Roman theater that is known as one of the best-preserved ancient theaters in the world
The ancient city of Aspendos, approximately 50 km east of Antalya, is a must-visit historical site in the region.
The ancient Greco-Roman city houses the ruins of many significant structures, including an agora, a stadium, and a basilica. However, the ancient city's well-preserved Roman theatre is what makes here a very special place and is the main reason for a large number of tourists to visit the region.
Aspendos also offers the possibility of joining artistic and cultural events organized in the theatre. The theatre hosts one of the main events in the region, the International Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival, and the event itself is a great chance to experience the historical site in another way.
