Ein Postkartenmotiv
Idyllisch an einem kleine See gelegen ist das „Rakyschlösschen“ ein beliebtes Fotomotiv. Allerdings ist das heute dort noch zu sehende runde, mit einem kleinen Anbau versehen Gebäude nur das Pförtnerhäuschen des ehemaligen Schloss- oder Villengebäudes. Der Gebäudekomplex, von dem heute nur noch das Haus des Pförtners, ein burgturmähnlicher, verschlossener Aussichtsturm und der „Weinkeller“ in Form einer Burgruine existiert, entstand in Jahr 1904.

Anton Raky - Mäzen und Villenbesitzer
Erbaut wurde der Komplex auf Wunsch von Anton Raky, einem deutschen Konstrukteur und Unternehmer. Er gilt als genialer Erfinder auf dem Gebiet der Tiefbohrtechnik. Er gründete die „Internationale Bohrgesellschaft AG“  in Erkelenz. Diese Firma (deren Nachfolgerunternehmen noch heute in Erkelenz ansässig ist) war wirtschaftlich sehr erfolgreich und so konnte Anton Raky in Dalheim-Rödgen ein großes Grundstück erwerben und ließ am Rödgener Mühlenweiher die schlossähnliche Villa als Landsitz errichten Dort war er Gastgeber großer Jagdgesellschaften. Auch war er der erste Automobilbesitzer im damaligen Landkreis Erkelenz und ließ auf eigene Kosten den Weg zwischen Firma in Erkelenz und Villa in Dalheim-Rödgen befestigen. Einige Jahre nach Baubeginn der Villa am Mühlenteich (heute auch Raky-Weiher genannt) musste sich Anton Raky als Generaldirektor aus der Erkelenzer Firma zurückziehen und verließ die Region.

Die Villa verfiel im Laufe der Zeit immer mehr und wurde wegen nicht mehr zu beseitigender Schäden 1972 gesprengt und vollständig beseitigt.
