Görlitz

Almost 4,000 listed buildings that even include a brewery: Such a precious and complete ensemble is only to be found in Görlitz, considered to be the most beautiful town of Germany by many admirers. That its splendour has been preserved is owed to the ups and downs of the town’s history. Next to the medieval town centre that is characterised by the unique hall houses of the cloth merchants lies the expanded city that grew by and by with impressive buildings in Gründerzeit and Art Nouveau style.
