Der Gallusturm von Bad Säckingen wurde 1343 "gegen Wasser und Feind" erbaut, nachdem ein Hochwasser die damalige Inselstadt überschwemmt hatte. Der Rhein verzweigte sich damals in einen Haupt- und einen nördlichen Nebenarm und umschloss so den Stadtkern. Im Jahr 1973 wurde der Turm von der Narrenzunft Säckingen "als Bollwerk gegen Trübsal" wiederhergestellt.
