Elendsklamm

Visitors can admire small terraced cascades and gushing waterfalls, bizarre weathered forms made of hard quartz sandstone, seas of stones and overhanging layers of red sandstone.
The Frohnbach formed this unique landscape many years ago. With today's water level, this is difficult to imagine. At that time, however, the Frohnbach was a roaring river. Its roar gave the "thousand" mill its name.
The Elendsklamm can be reached via marked hiking trails. A hike through the Elendsklamm is the perfect day trip destination, especially in the summer. The old stock of tree provides shade and the gorge even stays cool on very hot days.
