Die auffällige "Wollsackverwitterung" am Günterfelsen hat ihren Namen von gestapelten, mit Wolle gefüllten Säcken. In den Boden sickerndes Regenwasser zersetzt dabei unterirdische Felsstrukturen und rundet die Ecken und Kanten der riesigen Bruchstücke ab. Erst mit zunehmender Erosion und Freilegung der " Felsenburgen" stoppt dieser natürliche Prozess.
