Not a castle, but a former cave, i.e. a geological object -> one of only two geotopes in the entire district of Forchheim to be included in the Bavarian State Office for the Environment's list of "Bavaria's 100 most beautiful geotopes"!
The rock formation is so large that it cannot really be photographed in its entirety => a personal visit on foot is therefore absolutely necessary :)
You join the list of famous visitors, which also includes a Bavarian king - Ludwig I - who immortalised himself in the rock in 1830 with a somewhat bumpy little poem - too bumpy to publish here on the worldwide web -> so, another reason to take a look for yourself :)
