Extending over 70 acres, Hergest Croft Gardens holds National Collections of Maples, Birches and Zelkovas, plus over 130 champion' trees. In addition to a traditional vegetable garden, the Kitchen Garden features a spring border under ancient apple trees, next to a long, double herbaceous border and beds of old-fashioned scented roses. The impressive collection of azaleas in the Azalea Garden is combined with a great variety of unusual trees & shrubs; Maple Grove contains many new plants introduced from all over the world, including the Far East. Walk through the Park, with its magnificent collection of specimen trees, and across Haywood Common is Park Wood; This secluded valley, hidden deep in an ancient oak wood, contains over 30 acres of giant rhododendrons and exotic trees.
