The board recounts his adventurous journey to America, his work as a blacksmith in Santos, and his return to the USA in 1866. But Perfeller eventually returned to Fürth, where he laid the foundations for his visionary idea: the construction of a "Chinesenstadt" (Chinatown) in the Fürther Graben. Inspired by reports of Chinese culture, he began building pavilions, arcades, and a lake that were meant to represent a harmonious world.
Despite its decay after Perfeller's death in 1883, it remains a fascinating testament to his dreams and visions.
