Former Protestant Parsonage - half-timbered house, built around the year 1750
The former Protestant rectory was built around the year 1750.
The pastor at that time was either Friedrich Philipp Lucius, who held the pastoral office from 1706 to 1753, or his son Georg Friedrich Lucius, deacon in Kandel from 1740 to 1753, and later pastor until 1775. He was followed first by Pastor Johann Friedrich Müller and then by his son Johann Friedrich Lucius. In 1795, a fourth member of the notable Palatine pastor family Lucius came to Kandel. This was Friedrich Samuel Lucius, who served until 1810. Pastor Jakob Croneiß, who was pastor and church councilor in the village from 1885 to 1913, is also well-known in Kandel today. A pond in the nearby Bienwald is named after him, which is located directly next to the railway line to Wörth.
Until 2013, the former rectory was used by the Protestant parish as a kindergarten.
