Die aus dem 15. Jhd. stammende Burg ist am Stadtrand von Geilenkirchen gelegen und gehört zu den größten und imposantesten Burganlagen des Niederrheins.
Als Wasserburganlage wurde sie auf vier, von Gräben umgebenen Inseln errichtet. Das zweigeschossige Herrenhaus mit dem mächtigen, siebengeschossigen Wehrturm stammt aus dem 15. Jh. Nach umfangreicher Sanierung befindet sich zur Zeit ein Seniorenheim in der Burg. Wer mehr über die Vergangenheit der Burg erfahren möchte, kann dies im Rahmen einer Führung mit Besichtigung zu festen Terminen sowie nach Absprache mit den Gästeführerinnen des Vereins Westblicke tun.
