Bítov Castle

Bitov is one of the oldest and most romantic castles in our country. The first written mention of it comes from the years 1061-1067.

It lies on a promontory surrounded by the Želetava River, near its confluence with the Dyje River. It is reflected in the waters of the Vranov dam, whose waters flooded the village of Bítov under the castle. Today, the castle attracts both small and large visitors with its varied and entertaining offer of guided tours of the palace, armory, prison and dungeon, garden and zoo.
