Mit einer Fläche von 3.125 Hektar ist die "Schwetzinger Hardt" in unserem Kreis das größte regionale Waldschutzgebiet mit Erholungswald in Baden-Württemberg. Hier darf die Natur sich entfalten, aber auch der Mensch hat seinen Platz in dieser historisch gewachsenen Waldlandschaft. Das Land Baden-Württemberg und die beteiligten Kommunen Hockenheim, Leimen, Oftersheim, Reilingen, Sandhausen, Schwetzingen und Walldorf fördern und entwickeln in der Schwetzinger Hardt den Naturschutz, die Erholungsfunktion und die nachhaltige Forstwirtschaft im Einklang weiter.
