A főút zajos forgalmával ellentétben a szurdok elhagyatott és békés, a lombokon alig szűrődik át a fény, mivel az oszlopos termetű bükkök lombsátra összezáródik. A lejtőkön jó élőhelyeket biztosító holtfa hever nagy mennyiségben.

- A Mánfa, Kaposvári útelágazástól a 66-os úton déli irányba kell elindulni, majd a kanyarnál a bal kéz felé leágazó K ● jelzést kell követni a forráshoz és az öreg erdőhöz (1,7km, 108 m szintemelkedés).
Parking
- A Mánfa és Árpádtető között húzodó 66-os út kanyarjában, ahol a forráshoz vezető K● jelzés kezdődik, parkoló található. A parkolótól 150 métert kell gyalogolni a forráshoz.
