The initiative of this museum-workshop belongs to a couple of artists who moved from Bucharest to Piscu village. After discovering the local pottery and the few pottery makers still alive, they decided to collect as many pottery specimens from the village families, but also to organize pottery workshops. Thus, the Piscu School aims to bring back to the collective memory the beauty of Piscu pottery and to keep it as alive as possible.
Today, the owners organize pottery, linocut, and painting classes, plus presentations of the history of the place. Upon request, visitors can take walks in nature or even to the nearby Țigănești Monastery. The village of Piscu is also perfectly suited to be discovered by bike.
In the museum building, you can admire a large collection of local ceramics, with motifs specific to the area, but also old or new photos from the community.
