mighty large-leaved lime

From the parking lot for hikers at the Mallinde Berka, you can reach the Silberborn spring via a nature trail of the Hainich National Park. This springs from under the rootstock of a mighty large-leaved lime tree, whose hollow trunk opens up in the shape of a goblet. The original crown branches are missing, and have grown into a new crown through new shoots. Due to the calyx shape, the trunk already reaches a circumference of 11.81 meters at a height of 1.3 meters.
