Energy production at the beautiful Klöntalersee

The rubble of a prehistoric landslide formed the Klöntalersee and it was further dammed with the construction of the power plant. The Löntsch power station is driven by the outflow from the 83 km² watershed around the Klöntalersee, where the water is stored and fed via a pressure pipe to the turbines of the power station headquarters in Netstal.

zum Stausee:

Mit der S6 oder S25 nach Glarus und von dort mit dem Postauto 504 nach Klöntal. Das Postauto verkehrt von anfangs Mai bis Oktober

zum Kraftwerk:

Mit der S25 bis Netstal und dann weiter zu Fuss (ca. 20 Minuten) bis zur Rütigasse 3

zum Stausee:

A3 ab Reichenburg SZ, Ausfahrt 44 Niederurnen/Glarus, Näfels, Netstal, Riedern, Klöntalerstrasse. Die Strasse aus Richtung Muotathal ist nur im Sommer und nur werktags geöffnet.

zum Kraftwerk:

A3 bis Ausfahrt 44 Niederurnen/Glarus, dann Zubringerstrasse und Route 17 bis Rütigasse in Netstal nehmen
