Dom St. Peter zu Osnabrück

Die erste Kirche wurde an dieser Stelle bereits im Jahre 785 erichtet. Zwischen 1218 und 1277 erhielt der Dom weitgehend sein heutiges aussehen einer spätromanischen Basilika. Zwischen 1502 und 1543 wurde der südliche Turm vom Umfang her erweitert und dem damals üblichen Baustil angepasst. In dieser Zeit wurde auch das Portal errichtet, das ebenfalls als spätgotisch einzustufen ist.

Das Bauwerk prägt seit seiner Entstehung die Silhouette der Stadt.

Der Dom ist geöffnet montags bis freitags von 6:30 Uhr bis 19:45 Uhr, samstags von 7:30 bis 18 Uhr und sonntags von 7:30 bis 20 Uhr.
