The last dam built on Table Mountain in 1910.
The fifth and final dam to be built in the Table Mountain series was the De Villiers dam, capacity 243 Ml, it was completed in 1910. Water from all three east-draining dams (Victoria, Alexander and De Villers) flows un-piped in the valley below the dam wall into Orange Kloof, from where it is collected and piped to a filtration works at Constantia Nek. Historically this water was exclusively for usage in the Wynberg Municipality but now contributes towards the larger Western Cape Water Supply Scheme.
