Das kleine Klettergebiet an den Hängen der Weißen Elster ist immer noch ein Geheimtipp.  Es bietet seinen Gästen von liegenden Reibungsklettereien über senkrechte kinder- und anfängerfreundlichen Felspartien bis hin zu Überhängen für Freaks.

Charakteristik: Gestein
Geklettert wird an Massivwänden, die aus den Talhängen ragen. Darüberhinaus gibt es noch zwei eigenständige Gipfel. Die Wege erreichen bis zu 40 m Länge. Gesteinsmässig wird hier gut griffiger, mitunter aber etwas brüchiger Diabas (Grünstein) geboten. Die Nähe zu einem Steinwerk sorgt(e) manchmal für eine heftige Staubauflage auf Griffen und Tritten.
An- und Abklettern erfolgt jedes Jahr unter fachmännischer Anleitung des Deutschen Alpenvereins.

Public transport

Die Vogtlandbahn verkehrt regelmäßig auf der Bahnstrecke Weischlitz-Gera. Aussteigen muss man an dem Bedarfshalt "Rentzschmühle" und schon steht man am Eingang zum Klettergebiet. Die genauen Fahrzeiten und Haltestellen kann man den Fahrplänen auf der Seite der Vogtlandbahn entnehmen.

Directions

Fahrt auf der A72 Richtung Hof bis zur Ausfahrt "Plauen", dann weiter auf der B92 in Richtung Greiz. Nach einigen Kilometern biegt man rechts zur Ortschaft Cossengrün ab. In Cossengrün geradeaus in Richtung Rentzschmühle. 

Parking

Vor der Bahnschranke in Rentzschmühle befindet sich ein großer Parkplatz.
