The Wieskirche in Steingaden is a well-known pilgrimage church and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983.

"The Wies is a piece of heaven on earth," was the conviction of writer Peter Dörfler. The unique location of the Wies and its magnificent Rococo character attract around 1 million visitors annually to the Pilgrimage Church of the Scourged Saviour. Its significance dates back to the Tears Miracle of 1738.

In the Wieskirche, visitors are invited to attend services, find quiet reflection, listen to one of the numerous concerts, and admire the exhibits housed in the Pilgrimage Museum.

Since 1983, the Wieskirche has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Rococo elements, combined with impressive stuccowork and beautiful paintings, create an artistic symbiosis that is never overwhelming or too lavish.

You can take the bus from Pfronten to Füssen. A bus then runs at regular intervals to the Wieskirche in Steingaden (direction Weilheim i. OB).
