The 950-year-old church combines the original Romanesque style with Gothic extensions and Baroque interior design.
An interesting relief of the Mount of Olives by an unknown artist from around 1500 can be found on the east side of the choir. Another striking feature is the massive square fortified tower with walls around 2 meters thick and rectangular slit windows. A statue of St. John of Nepomuk was erected on the forecourt of the church in 1740. A Trinity Column (donated by Hugo Gallus) was erected on the main square in 1887 and a war memorial in 1921.
