Diese Kirche - zunächst eine kleine Kapelle mit Gnadenbild - wurde im Jahr 1722 von dem Grafen Christoph Franz von Muggenthal geweiht. In den folgenden Jahren entwickelte sich in dem nach dem Muster der Altöttinger Gnadenkapelle errichtete Baumgärtle eine starke Wallfahrt. So wurde im Jahr 1882 die neü Wallfahrtskirche mit einem reich verzierten Hochaltar gebaut, die man heute besichtigen kann.
Es gibt auch eine Kreuzweganlage.
