The baroque pilgrimage church of Maria Namen, an atmospheric place of worship with a long tradition, stands in the center of Mönichkirchen. Originally built as a small chapel in the 14th century, it was converted into a pilgrimage church in the 17th century and has dominated the townscape ever since.
Particularly impressive is the baroque high altar with the statue of Our Lady of Grace, which is still the destination of many pilgrims today. Paintings, side altars and artistic frescoes lend the interior a festive yet meditative atmosphere.
The church is not only the spiritual center of the village, but also a stop on popular pilgrimage and hiking trails around the Wechsel.
