Diese wunderschöne Kirche lädt zum Besuch ein, da sie ein historischer Anziehungspunkt ist und durch ihre einzigartige Bauweise besticht.

Der erste Bischoff von Halberstadt, Hildegrim, gründete die Kirche zwischen 814 und 827. sie gehört zu einer der von ihm gegründeten 35 "Urkirchen" von denen später Archidiakonatskirchen wurden. Dieser Bau stammt aus der Mitte des 12. Jahrhunderts und wurde im Laufe der Jahrhunderte mehrmals verändert.
