The Protestant church towers over the town and is the resting place for celebrities.

The tower, which was renovated in 1866 in the late Gothic style, rises 70 metres into the Dürkheim sky. It rests on the truncated tower of the early Gothic church from 1300, which replaced the older Romanesque basilica first mentioned in 946. The burial chapel, completed in 1508, consists of the resting place of the Leiningen counts, dominated by the double epitaph of Count Emich XII with his wife Maria Elisabeth, and the ruler's lodge.
