Origin As early as 893, a chapel of the Trier Abbey of St. Maximin was built on the Kirchberg – a large part of the current church, a former defensive church, was constructed in the Middle Ages. The tower originates from a later period. Architecture · Late Gothic choir with flying buttresses · Lavishly decorated, Gothic tracery windows (fish bladder compositions) and large triumphal arch · The nave is equipped with pointed arch windows Furnishings/Art · Late Gothic stone pulpit from 1533 with richly crafted sculptural decorations · Polygonal pulpit basket resting on a well-designed bundled pillar, Palatinate coat of arms as well as three additional shield bearings, tracery, and vegetative works as embellishments · Six richly reliefed and coat-of-arms adorned epitaphs (tombstones with inscriptions) from the Renaissance and Baroque period · Gothic sandstone fragment of a Coronation of Mary · Schlimbach organ (Speyer) from 1853
