Vorderberg, Pfarrkirche hll. Petrus und Paulus
Vorderberg ist ein schattseitig unter dem 2.052 m hohen Oisternig gelegenes Dorf südlich der Gail und, wie viele Orte des Tales, auf dem Schwemmkegel eines Wildbaches erbaut, welcher zuletzt 2003 den ganzen Ort überflutete. Mitten im Ort steht die Pfarrkirche hll. Petrus und Paulus, bei der es sich um einen kleinen spätgotischen Bau mit einem mächtigen Turm mit barockem Zwiebelhelm handelt. Das Langhaus mit einer tiefen hölzernen Westempore ist durch einen spitzbogigen Triumphbogen mit dem Chor mit 3/8 Schluss verbunden. Der Hauptaltar (A. 18. Jh.) zeigt im Zentrum den hl. Petrus umgeben von den hll. Paulus, Rochus, Thomas und Florian. Die Kirche besitzt auch zwei Seitenaltäre (um 1700) mit dem hl. Sebastian links und dem hl. Thomas rechts als Mittelfigur. Bemerkenswert ist der spätgotische Flügelaltar aus der Filialkirche Maria im Graben (A. 16. Jh.) an der Langhausnordwand mit einem geschnitzten Vesperbild im Schrein.
