Besonders sehenswert ist der Innenraum mit seiner Flachdecke, die ein Fresko von Franz Anton Weiß schmückt, das die Schlacht auf dem Lechfeld darstellt. Das Altarretabel des Hochaltars stammt von Ludwig Caspar Weiß und befand sich bis 1872 in der Pfarrkirche von Bad Hindelang. Der achtseitige, schiefergedeckte Turmhelm des Chorflankenturms beherbergt sechs Kirchenglocken und die Turmuhr. Die Kirche zeichnet sich durch ihren byzantinischen Charakter aus und wurde 1773 geweiht. Als Baudenkmal unter der Nummer D-7-80-118-1 eingetragen, ist St. Ulrich ein wichtiges Zeugnis barocker Kirchenarchitektur im Allgäu und ein spiritueller Mittelpunkt der Gemeinde Burgberg.
