Der damalige baufreudige Pfarrer Francesco Maria da Vigevano überwachte die Ausmalung der Marienkirche (1682).
Die Geschichte der Marienkirche hängt mit dem Ausbruch der heimtükischen Pest im Herbst 1629 zusammen. Seit einigen Jahren wirkte hier ein aus Frankreich stammender Franziskaner, Pater Petrus de Jegu. Auf Drängen des Paters, angesichts der Heimsuchung , gelobte die Gemeinde am 18. Oktober 1629 eine Kirche zu Ehren der Unbefleckten Empfängnis zu erbauen.
Die Nossadonna (Marienkirche) wurde im Jahre 1643 durch den Bischof Johann VI. eingeweiht. Der darin enthaltene Altar wurde zu Ehren der unbefleckten Empfängnis errichtet. Heute finden in der Kirche gelegentlich auch klassische Konzerte statt.
Die Marienkirche ist als Einzige im Winter beheizt, somit finden die Gottesdienst im Winter immer in dieser Kirche statt.
