Die auf einer Anhöhe stehende Kirche mit 29 Meter hohem achteckigem Barockturm überragt den historischen Ortskern.

Im Inneren der Kirche, aus dem Jahre 1755, befindet sich ein konvexes Tafelbild aus der Werkstatt von Lucas Cranach dem Älteren. Es zeigt den Heiligen Georg als Drachentöter sowie die Stifterfamilie mit Wappen in der unteren Bildhälfte.
