Die Maria-Heimsuchungskapelle, auch Marienkapelle genannt, liegt im Kapellenpark am südöstlichen Ortsrand von Ellmau und ist das Wahrzeichen der Gemeinde. Sie wurde im Jahr 1719 von Postmeister Johann Kaisermann erbaut und sieben Jahre später von Bischof Karl Josef von Chiemsee geweiht. Von 1988 - 1990 fand eine Generalsanierung statt. Die Kapelle enthält einen Barockaltar mit dem Altarblatt "Maria Heimsuchung", das Alois Wagner aus Hall 1831 malte. Daneben befinden sich die Schutzpatrone des Viehs, Leonhard und Silvester. Auf dem Altar steht eine Kopie der Maria-Hilf-Madonna von Lucas Cranach. Das Gewölbe zeigt Bilder aus dem Rosenkranz.
