Valldemossa hat seine Berühmtheit nicht nur Frédéric Chopin zu verdanken. Das Dorf ist auch der Geburtsort von Caterina Tomàs i Gallard, der einzigen Heiligen Mallorcas. Die 1531 in Valldemossa geborene Caterina betete als junge Frau an einem selbst gebauten Altar unter freiem Himmel. Die Gebete waren begleitet von mystischen Erscheinungen und Visionen, weshalb Papst Pius XI. sie 1930 heilig sprach. Jedes Jahr findet Ende Juli Caterina zu Ehren ein mehrtägiges Fest statt. Den Höhepunkt bildet ein bunter Umzug am 28. Juli.
Das zu einer Kapelle umgewandelte Geburtshaus Caterinas, das sich neben der Kirche Sant Bartomeu befindet, kann besichtigt werden.
