The Bürglen chapel stands for lived independence: for centuries, the chapel and school shaped life in the hamlet - today complemented by valuable sacred art.

The long history of its own chapel with its own chaplain for more than 300 years and the independent school that existed for over 200 years from 1737 to 1964 shaped the development of the hamlet of Bürglen and strengthened its independence. These two institutions played a central role in the social and religious life of the population.

In 1972, the chapel was extensively and professionally renovated. Since then, it has presented itself in a stylish manner and houses several works of sacred art inside that are well worth seeing.
