The Bichl chapel in Grossarl dates back to the 17th century and remains an important place of prayer and devotion to this day.
The Bichl chapel was built in the 17th century and belongs to the Ebner family of Oberbichl. It is maintained by Maria Weiß. The chapel is a time-honored place of prayer. The Rosary is recited here daily, especially in May and October. A notable feature is the chapel’s very old bell, which was housed in the tower of the parish church in Grossarl during both world wars.
The path continues from the Laireiting chapel toward the state highway. After crossing the road, you can either follow the sidewalk to Landhaus Neumayr or cross the street at Hotel Egger, cross the stream via the footbridge, and follow the Achen Promenade upstream. From Landhaus Neumayr, cross the bridge and follow the bike and walking path to the Bichl chapel.
